Artificial Intelligence
Generative artificial intelligence tools (hereinafter referred to as AI tools), such as Large Language Models (LLM) or multimodal models, do not meet the criteria for authorship, as they do not have the appropriate contribution to be considered an author, and their authorship cannot be guaranteed by signing the License Terms.
If AI was used in the study, this should be properly indicated in the Materials and Methods section, the nature and extent of their use should be reported, and the full name of the AI tool used (with the version number) should be indicated.
The AI Policy requires that all participants in the publishing process - authors, reviewers, editors, and journal staff - use AI ethically and responsibly.
Authors’ Use of AI:
Authors may use generative AI tools only as an aid to, and not as a replacement for, their own research.
AI may be used to:
- check grammar, style, and translation;
- prepare technical descriptions, diagrams, or illustrations;
- generate drafts that are then edited by the author.
It is prohibited to:
- create full-text articles or conclusions using AI without significant human input;
- use fictitious data, sources, or links generated by AI;
- present material generated by AI as their own without disclosing this fact.
Transparency
Each author is required to indicate the use of AI in the article.
The author is fully responsible for the accuracy, reliability and legality of the materials used, even if they are created using AI.
Use of AI by reviewers and editors
- Reviewers may use AI only for linguistic assistance or technical analysis (e.g. citation checking).
- The use of AI to create the review itself is prohibited.
- The reviewer must notify the editorial office if AI has been used.
- Editors may request clarification or refuse publication if the AI policy is violated.
Requirements for content created or modified by AI
If the article uses text, images, tables or other elements created or modified by AI:
- this must be clearly stated;
- the name of the tool, developer, version and purpose of use must be indicated;
- the author must verify the accuracy of all information.
Content containing fabricated or inaccurate data will be rejected or retracted after publication.
Academic integrity and legal aspects
The use of AI must comply with:
- the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the prevention of academic plagiarism and the norms of academic integrity;
- the international ethical standards of COPE
Sanctions for Violations
In case of non-compliance with this policy, the journal has the right to:
- refuse publication or retract the article;
- notify the author's institution or the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of the violation of academic integrity;
- suspend the possibility of further submissions to the journal.
Policy Review
The editorial board of the journal reviews this policy annually in accordance with the development of technologies and changes in international publication standards. The updated version is posted on the official website of the journal.
The appropriateness of using AI tools will be further evaluated by the editor and specialists at the stage of double-blind review.
Reviewers should refrain from uploading manuscripts to AI software or using other AI technologies that may lead to a breach of confidentiality.
